And now the Countryman gets an electrified variant, featuring a 134-hp, turbo 1.5-liter inline-three for the front axle and an 87-hp electric motor driving the rear. Combined system output is a respectable 221 horsepower and 284 lb-ft. A 7.6-kWh lithium-ion battery stores enough juice for up to 12 miles of electric-only motivation. The numbers are in, and in the U.S. alone, electric vehicle sales increased 21 rates last year -- from vehicles sold in vehicles sold in 2017.
